At Kindred, we contribute to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and create meaningful stories together. We built these Community Guidelines to encourage the broadest range of self-expression while ensuring that users can enjoy the platform safely and respectfully every day.
These Guidelines apply to all content (including text, images, audio, video, generative AI, links, attachments, and other creative tools) and all user behavior on Kindred. They apply to every user of the Services.
Kindred is a storytelling platform for adults 18 and older. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will remove their account and data in accordance with our Terms of Service.
Kindred includes generative AI features that enable creative, immersive storytelling across genres—from romance and adventure to mystery and fantasy. We uphold creative freedom, but also clear boundaries: users must not use AI tools to generate or distribute harmful, illegal, or unsafe content.
We reserve the right to remove content or take enforcement action—including account suspension or termination—when conduct or content violates these Guidelines or our Terms of Service.
Help foster a community where everyone feels welcome, creative, and protected.
Bold storytelling is encouraged, but content that harms, intimidates, or endangers others is prohibited—especially anything involving minors. Do not promote or depict real-world violence, torture, gore, animal abuse, terrorism, or extremist ideologies.
Kindred is 18+, but illegal sexual content is never allowed. Prohibited content includes child exploitation or abuse imagery, grooming, sexual extortion, pornography, and nudity. Do not create or share sexualized depictions of real people (including AI-generated or "deepfake" content).
Use language that is respectful of all people. Content that is hateful, demeaning, dehumanizing, or that promotes discrimination or violence based on protected characteristics (e.g., race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age) is prohibited.
Be mindful with sensitive topics like self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide. Do not promote, glorify, or encourage self-harm. Avoid extreme fitness or body-shaming content that could contribute to disordered eating.
Treat others with kindness and empathy. Harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, personal attacks, threats, abusive behavior, and repeated unwanted messages have no place on Kindred. Do not share someone's private information or engage in tortious conduct (e.g., defamation, invasion of privacy).
Help keep Kindred a space for genuine, meaningful, and creative interactions.
Avoid using someone's name, likeness, or persona without permission or outside of legitimate, clearly fictional, or satirical contexts.
When discussing real-world topics—like health, politics, or finances—strive for accuracy. Do not share false, misleading, or manipulated information that could cause harm, deceive others, or erode trust.
Keep Kindred free from unsolicited promotions. Do not post or send spam, including unwanted advertising, mass solicitations, chain messages, pyramid schemes, or contests and sweepstakes without written authorization from Kindred.
Stay within the law and respect the rights of others while creating, sharing, and interacting.
Only use content that you have the rights to use. Don't infringe on anyone's intellectual property, copyright, or trademark, and don't upload or share content you don't have permission to use.
Protect other people's personal information. Don't share private details, impersonate others, or create content that could compromise anyone's privacy or security.
Avoid defamatory, libelous, or knowingly false content that could harm another person's reputation or mislead others about real individuals or organizations.
Fictional stories about crime or danger are fine, but real-world promotion, facilitation, or instruction for illegal activities is not. Do not seek to buy, sell, or trade illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or services.
Don't seek or provide medical, legal, financial, or tax advice on Kindred. Creative storytelling is welcome — professional guidance belongs with licensed experts.
Help keep Kindred safe, stable, and reliable for everyone.
Use Kindred as intended. Attempts to manipulate the system, create rule-breaking content, hack, reverse engineer, or bypass our security or safety systems are strictly prohibited.
Don't interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, or networks that support Kindred. Never upload or share files containing viruses, malicious code, or programs designed to damage or limit functionality.
Scams, fraud, spamming, data scraping, or any dishonest or exploitative behavior violate our rules and the spirit of the Kindred community.
Kindred is a place for creativity, storytelling, and connection — and keeping it that way is a shared responsibility.
If you encounter harmful, exploitative, or unsafe content (including AI-generated material), report it using the in-app tools or through our Help Center. Your reports help us maintain a safe and inspiring environment.
When content or behavior violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, we may take appropriate action — including limiting visibility, removing content, issuing warnings, suspending accounts, or, in serious cases, permanently banning users or notifying law enforcement. These measures protect both our users and the creative space we're building together.

These Guidelines apply to every part of the Kindred experience. Our systems use both automated tools and human review to detect illegal or harmful content, and our AI models are designed with safeguards to reduce the likelihood of generating unsafe or inappropriate outputs.
